Stayed here for a week, I loved it!

Not up to the mark. Furniture and fixtures are very outdated and dirty.

Not good. Seen three cockroachs plates was dirty n shower did not work properly. I would not recommend it

We slept with lights on, as much as we were able to sleep. Usually pest control works to make roaches disappear but the entire furniture and the wooden planks behind the bed are full of live cockroaches that come out when it gets dark and wander around.

Ohh deary where to start....I arrived at reception to check in, no one is there. I was later greeted by a man who had no idea what he was doing, he didn't know how to use the computer or the external eftpos. I ended up waiting at least half an hour to check in, it came to the point where I had to show the man how to use the eftpos machine and how to print my own receipt hahaReceived my room key after thirty minutes of hearing this guy swearing and running around like a headless chook trying to work the eftpos. Moving into the room, I was greeted with the sweet aroma of cigarettes and cleaning products. The kitchen was like something you'd see in a Balinese prison, the mattresses of the beds were on such an angle I'm surprised I haven't re-ignited the scoliosis from my childhood. The TV was surprisingly fine.... For the first two minutes, before a warranty add begun to appear and then disappear every fifteen seconds. Made reading the subtitles on my favourite SBS show, 'Candy or Not Candy', almost impossible.Ahh I can't forget the random patch of carpet missing from the floor, or the very suspect stains on one of the lounge chairs.More on the service of this place... At 10pm at night we were greeted by another innocent guest opening our door with another set of keys to our room (I forgot to mention there are no locks on the door to the room). I went down to reception to let some guy (I'm guessing the owner) know there is someone staying in my room (me), I was reassured that it was all good and I had nothing to worry about. The owner later came up to my room at 10:45pm shouting "Who are you and who booked you in?!" The service in this place! But he was kind enough to let me extended my check out by another hour hahaTo all those who made it to the bottom of this rant against the City Beach Motel, I'm clearly recommending that no one stays here! For the asking price of $189 a night, don't be stingy like I was... pay the extra couple hundred and find somewhere else to stay, go to the Novotel it's great!I've never done a review online but this place seriously encouraged me to try new things.
