5/5Beautiful atmosphere, they do a lovely coffee and have a fantastic selection of cakes and some pastries. Their chimney cakes are great and have a fair amount to them (don't underestimate). They have wonderful staff, some of the longer term staff remember you well, and have that energetic humour that makes every visit enjoyable.Quirky location that works really well for the atmosphere, always kept cool and that warm orange glow that makes it feel comfortable all year around.Most items are slightly more pricy than other spots in Wollongong, but definitely the best spot to go for an enjoyable experience. Curl up with a book, or work in the nice environment.The long opening hours make a nice dessert or after dinner coffee an easy decision, and plenty of locals clearly agree.Expect a coffee and slice to be around the $10 mark or so, but slice is by weight, so you can adjust to suit budget. To those who have had a bad experience with the chimney cakes, it's very rare to occur, and staff are usually very quick to help if they missed out on noticing something.
Originally gave this place 4 starts but unfortunately have to change due to many incinsistencies. The last time I was there I received a roll which was completely burnt to the point where all you could taste was carbon and the time before that I was served old and stale cake. Not sure how you think this is acceptable.
Me and my two friends went here this evening... after an hour of sharing between the duo mouse and the cinnamon and walnut cakes we all experienced extremely upset stomaches which led to all of us vomiting all night. Not too sure of the reasoning - maybe the cake was off??? or maybe the cakes were not refrigerated probably?? Or maybe the staff were not wearing gloves??!!. I would NOT recommend this place. Extremely disappointed and now we have all been left feeling extremely unwell. disgusted is an understatement + service was horrible - lady at the front was rude and acted as if we were distrupting her of her own job. Never will be coming near this place AGAIN.
Amazing sweet baked items ,cakes ,shakes and different sweet dishes , comes with delicious baking smell all time , dine in style was similar to bakery of 19th century
5 stars foods, 3 stars service. Offer a great selection of cake and pastry. Had a tiramisu, 2 savoury triangle and a chocolate twist. Very delicious. The pastry are fantastic, light and flaky. Foods are great, but let down by the service. They completely forgot a cup of coffee and a savoury triangle. I asked for decaf tea when I placed my order. The waiter told me they dont have any decaf tea and added tea does not have caffeine anyway. SERIOUSLY?
